Fedrigoni presents PULP
(read it in italian here)
Pulp is a new quarterly international magazine about people and news in the world of paper. Conceived in Italy by Fedrigoni, Pulp was then developed by the London team of Eye Magazine, under the editorship of John Walters and art director Simon Esterson. Printing techniques, fonts, layouts, graphic and editorial projects, illustrations, photographs, archives, swapping ideas with the people who get all this on the move and all the paper they use for their projects: these are the topics that Pulp will cover. An impressive contents page for the presentation issue that opens with a focus on the digital printing world, through dialogue with a number of Anglo-Saxon printers - Screaming Colors, Moo and Ripe Digital - to understand how new technology is affecting their business, possible developments, the importance of the choice of paper and a selection particularly important examples. The magazine continues with an interview with Rino Maccaccaro, curator of the Historic Archive at Fedrigoni, where he began working in 1954, not to mention an exploration of the world of illustrations by Beppe Giacobbe and the work of Italo Lupi through his Graphic Autobiography. The first issue of Pulp - a special edition for Fuorisalone - will be presented in Milan on Friday 11 April 2014 at 18.00 in the Fabriano Boutique, with an introduction by Simon Esterson, who will explain the genesis of the editorial project, and special guests Beppe Giacobbe and Italo Lupi.
